Payment Plan and Auto-Billing

Athara Adventures strives to make attending our tours a seamless experience. One way in which we do this is through our payment plan and automatic billing features.

Reserving Your Place

When you book an Athara Adventures tour, a €500 per person deposit is required to secure your reservation. Because many of our guests plan their journeys a year or more in advance, we offer a deposit-based booking process that allows you to reserve your place without paying the full amount immediately. This gives you time to make travel arrangements, organize your schedule, and plan with confidence. It also offers reassurance that when the time comes, your place on the adventure is already waiting for you.

Payment Plan

At the time of booking, you have the option to pay in full or add a payment plan to your account. The default payment plan is as follows:

1st payment is one-quarter of the tour balance (less your €500 tour deposit) and is due six months prior to the tour start date;
2nd payment is the second-quarter of the tour balance and is due four months prior to the tour start date; and
3rd payment is the remaining balance of the tour total and is due two months prior to the tour start date.

In the event of a last-minute reservation, tours departing within 2 months require full payment at the time of booking.

Payment Options

To simplify the process of coming on a tour, Athara Adventures takes one more thing off your to-do list. If you choose to enter a credit card with the payment plan, the system will auto-bill you at the specified milestones (6 months, 4 months, 2 months). Athara Adventures accepts all major credit cards including Master Card, American Express, and Visa. This allows you to stay on schedule with payments and spend your energy focusing on other fun parts of your tour.

Another payment option Athara Adventures offers is e-check. This works like a check because the tour cost is deducted directly from your bank account without dropping a check in the mail. This feature also removes the payment processor's 3% credit card fee.

Our prices are listed in euros to reflect our European base of operations. Once you put a package in your cart, however, the price will be displayed in your home currency. Multi-currency checkout allows you to pay in USD, GBP, or a variety of other currencies, eliminating unnecessary exchange fees.

Cancellations‍ ‍

Although we'd be sad to see anyone miss out on our tour, we know cancellations are a part of life. We have an easy tour cancellation and refund policy to protect both our customers and Athara Adventures.

Reservations made more than four months in advance and canceled within seven days of the booking are entitled to a full refund. After that, cancellations up to four months before the tour start date receive a full refund less the €500 deposit. If a booking is canceled less than four months before the tour start date but before your tour has commenced, we do not offer a refund of fees paid; however, you will be entitled to a credit towards a future tour within the 24 months after the cancellation date.

This policy protects the mostly small, family-owned businesses with whom Athara Adventures partners. At times our tours reserve most of their available lodging, so last-minute refunds would have a negative trickle-down effect that could be detrimental to our local partners.
